Taylor made for Bairns
Falkirk striker Lyle Taylor scored the only goal of the game before seeing red as his side ran out 1-0 winners against Airdrie.
Neither team ever really got going in what was a very scrappy first half with very few meaningful chances to speak of.
The visitors improved dramatically in the second half and broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Taylor struck the ball into the top corner of Robbie Thomson's goal from the middle of the penalty area.
Taylor was then dismissed for picking up a second yellow card just nine minutes after putting the Bairns in front.
The league's basement club pushed for an equaliser against the 10 men of Falkirk but were unable to trouble goalkeeper Michael McGovern.
