Blue Brazil are summit special

Cowdenbeath stretched their lead at the top of the Division Two table to eight points after a comfortable 2-0 win over Airdrie.

The home side picked up the momentum gained from their battling 3-2 cup defeat to Hibernian, with Lewis Coult engineering some space in the box but firing straight at Connor Fairley.

Marc McKenzie broke the deadlock with half-time approaching, slotting into the bottom corner from six yards.

Airdrie went into the match as the division's top scorers, but Thomas Flynn was a mere spectator in the Cowdenbeath goal.

And when Fairley upended Coult in the area, Mark Ramsay placed home his seventh of the season to seal a routine victory for the Blue Brazil.
